This workshop discusses a future SMiRT community where the current young and mid-career researchers and engineers will take the lead. The challenges they are tackling right now are

  • cutting-edge researches in their original fields, and

  • application and standardization of their works in integrated nuclear industries,

both of which are not straightforward and even conflicting each other in some cases.

This Joint Workshop is composed of two parts aiming encouragement of such young and mid-career researchers and engineers.

In the first part, senior SMiRT experts will give short keynote speeches, reviewing how their R&D results are applied in practice and standardized in their respective countries.

In the second part, next generation of leaders will be a kick-off to discuss the future of SMiRT-related research issues in the period leading up to SMiRT 27. They will introduce their current research topics, obtain feedback from senior members, and present their current opinions on the future vision. They will make an organized session at SMiRT-27 (March 2024, Yokohama) that focuses on the future vision.
